In order to purchase and download books or periodicals, you need to have a Reader Store account. If you already have a Reader Store account, log in using your existing account information. Choose your Reader Digital Book model below for Reader Store account creation instructions: Reader Wi- Fi (PRS- T1 and PRS- T2) and Reader Daily Edition (PRS- 9. PRS- 9. 50)Connect the Reader Digital Book to a Wi- Fi network or 3. G network. At the Home screen, tap Reader Store or Store. PRS- T1. PRS- T2. PRS- 9. 00 and PRS- 9. Follow the on- screen instructions to create an account. Note: If you do not have an Adobe® ID and password, follow the on- screen instructions to create one. In the Sign In window, click the Create New Account button. In the Account Registration window, enter the appropriate information and then click the Register button. In the Adobe ID and Password Confirmation window, enter your Adobe ID and password. Note: If you do not have an Adobe ID and password, follow the on- screen instructions to create one. It is recommended to use the same e- mail address and password for both your Reader Store account and Adobe ID login. Important: If you receive an Adobe Authorization Failure error while logging in to the Reader Store, use this procedure to resolve the issue. STEP 4. Authorize the Reader Digital Book with a Reader Store Account. Authorization links your Reader to your Reader Store account, allowing books purchased from the Reader Store to be transferred to the authorized Reader. You can authorize up to six devices to a single account. Choose your type of Reader Digital Book below for instructions about authorization: Reader Digital Books with a wireless connection. The device is registered automatically when your log in to your Reader Store account using the software on the Reader Digital Book. Reader Digital Books without a wireless connection. For all Reader Digital Books, you can view and manage the devices connected to your Reader Store account using the following procedure: Open the Reader software. Click Store. Click My Account. Authorized devices are listed in the My Devices section. Note: You can give your devices nicknames for easy recognition. STEP 5. Download Books from the Reader Store. Choose your Reader Digital Book model below for instructions about how to download books from the Reader Store. Reader Wi- Fi (PRS- T1 and PRS- T2) and Reader Daily Edition (PRS9. PRS9. 50). Click the Add to Cart button. Follow the on- screen instructions to proceed to complete the purchase. Note: More information about using the Reader Store is available in the Help section. STEP 6. Transfer Books to the Reader Digital Book. You can transfer books to your Reader™ digital book using the following methods. Be sure to connect your Reader device to your computer using the USB cable before beginning. Automatic Sync. To transfer your books using the Reader for PC or Mac® software, connect your Reader Digital Book to the computer and the synchronization process will start automatically. This will transfer all the books listed in your library to your Reader Digital Book. Select Sync Categories: This feature will synchronize only selected categories from your Library. Make sure your Sony Reader is connected to your computer before following the instructions below. Start the Reader for PC or Mac® software. Click on the (source bar). Click the Sync tab on the category bar. From the Sync Setup list, click to select the categories you wish to synchronize (e. Books, Periodicals). Click Sync Now to start the sync process. Once the sync is complete, click the eject button next to the Reader icon on the source bar. Sync Selected Items: This feature will copy only selected items from your library. Do the following: On the Reader for PC or Mac® software select one of the categories on the Category bar. Click on the item you would like to transfer to your Sony Reader. Click on the (action bar) to copy the item. Sync items using drag and drop operation: You can drag and drop select items directly from your library to your reader device using the following steps: On the Reader for PC or Mac® software select one of the categories on the Category bar. Click on the item you would like to transfer to your Sony Reader. Drag and drop the item onto the Reader device icon located on the source bar. STEP 7. Download Books from the Public Library. Many public libraries around the country have a digital library. To use this service, you must have a library card established with the library you intend to use as well as a access to a Wi- Fi connection. Note: Using public library services requires a library card. Content availability may vary. Choose your Reader Digital Book below for instructions about downloading books from the Public library. Reader Wi- Fi (PRS- T1). At the Home screen, tap the right arrow (> ) button. Under Network, tap Public Library. In the Find a Library page, locate the Library you would like to use. To locate a Library, enter the search criteria and then tap the search button. Once you have found the Library you would like to borrow the book from, tap it to go to the Library page. Locate a book you want to check out by either browsing or searching for it. Note: Make sure that a copy of the book you want to check out is available. Tap the book. Note: Be sure to select the correct format for the Reader digital book, EPUB or PDF only. Tap the add to cart button. Repeat for any additional books you want to borrow. Once finished, tap the Proceed to Checkout button. Enter your Library card and pin into the fields and then tap Login. Note: The pin number is assigned by the Library and is sometimes the last for digits of the phone number that the Library has on file. In the Check Out screen, tap Confirm check out. In the Download screen, tap Download. When Download Complete is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen, the book is now listed in the Recently Added section of your home page. Reader Wi- Fi (PRS- T2). Tap Applications on the screen. On the Applications screen, tap Public Library. In the Find a Library page, locate the Library you would like to use. To locate a Library, enter the search criteria and then tap the search button. Once you have found the Library you would like to borrow the book from, tap it to go to the Library page.
